The South Carolina Defense Trial Attorneys' Association will hold its annual Trial Academy on August  19 - 21 in Columbia, SC.  The mock trials will be held on August 21st and will take place at the Richland County Courthouse.

This three-day trial advocacy course is designed for practitioners with up to five years of experience in jury trials.  The course will focus on the successful handling of all major aspects of a trial from opening statement to closing argument, as well as trial preparation and post-trial matters.  There will be demonstrations and lectures by experienced defense trial attorneys. Eighteen hours of CLE credit is anticipated.

The registration fee is $1,500.00, exclusive of room and board.  SCDTAA has reserved a block of rooms at the Sheraton at a rate of $155.00/night + tax.  Room charges will be paid directly by the participants to the hotel upon checkout.  The link for reservations will be sent out soon. Reservations should be made by August 3, 2026 to ensure this rate.
